NEIL KNIGHT

Neil qualified as attorney in 1992. He is also admitted to practice as a Conveyancer and Notary Public. He joined the firm in 1998. He is an avid woodworker and he currently sits on the committee of the Woodcrafters Association of Durban. His other interests include boxing, art deco furniture and sailing. Neil manages our Conveyancing department as well as our Wills, Trusts and Estates department.

CHARMAINE SCHWENN

Charmaine obtained her BA and LLB Degrees in 1992 and 1994, respectively, from the (then) University of Natal. In 2006 she wrote and passed her Conveyancing exam, coming first in the Province. She joined Tate, Nolan & Knight Attorneys in 2001, becoming a partner in 2009. Charmaine has twice been a finalist in the Business Women’s Association Regional Business Achiever Awards – Professional Category (2008 and 2010) and in 2009 was a finalist in the Feather Awards, Courageous Woman Category. In 2011 Charmaine was voted first runner up for Umhlanga Women Achievers and went on to win CEO’s Most Influential Woman in Business and Government (Legal Category), a national award. Charmaine was the chairperson of KZN Women in Business for the period January 2010 to December 2011 and has also served on the Business Women’s Association Committee. Charmaine was a 2012 Finalist in the  Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry : KZN Women of Excellence – Law awards. Charmaine manages our Litigation and Collections Departments.

ALISON TATE

Alison was admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer in 1982 and as Notary Public in 1983.

She is a specialist conveyancer with over 25 years experience in all aspects of conveyancing more particularly Transfer, Bonds, Servitudes, Sectional Title Registers, Real Rights of Extension and Township Registers.

Alison served as member of the council of the Kwazulu-Natal Law Society during the period 1999 to 2006 and was Vice-President of the Society from 2005 to 2006.

She served on the Property Law Committee of the Kwazulu-Natal Law Society. In addition she was a Director of the Attorneys Insurance Indemnity Fund as well as being a member of the Remuneration Committee of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund.

Alison’s interests include playing bridge, travelling, cinema, theatre and listening to music.

JEREMY HARCOURT-BALDWIN

Jeremy was admitted as an attorney in 1980. He is also admitted to practice as a conveyancer.

Jeremy has extensive commercial experience and specializes in ensuring that his clients businesses are properly and legally structured. He manages relationships between shareholders, members and directors of companies/close corporations.

He is avid surfer and mountain biker. He has a great love for the outdoors and has travelled Southern Africa extensively. Jeremy is passionate about both salt and freshwater fly fishing. He is also fluent in isiZulu.
